The ideal candidate will have either two years event or volunteer coordination experience, and/or relevant educational attainment at GCSE to HNC, NVQ 2/3, and will now be looking to develop this within a busy sports and leisure environment.

We are looking for:

  • Relevant experience within volunteer coordination.
  • Experience of coordinating projects.
  • A flexible approach to people and work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people.
  • Excellent organisation, administration and IT skills.
  • Personal drive and enthusiasm with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to succeed
  • Efficient and effective time management, organisation and planning skills.
  • Experience of supporting volunteers is desirable.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop, plan and coordinate the delivery of the wide ranging London Region events programme, from one-off and regular member events to large key Regional events such as conferences and awards celebrations. 
  • Encourage sport participation by planning, organising and implementing projects within our Qualifying events and Sport Club programmes.
  • Provide support to volunteers who contribute to the delivery of events and sports within the London Region.
  • Coordinate all of the event administration involved in member events including; collating entries, producing pre-event information, collating results and investigating risk assessments.
  • Undertake other ad hoc duties to support colleagues within the organisation where appropriate and necessary.

CSSC Sports & Leisure is a not-for-profit membership organisation with over 160,000 members and an annual turnover of £7m. We are part funded by the Cabinet Office and our vision is to inspire our members to explore new ways to be active and healthy.
