CSSC Indoor Volleyball 2019
The 24th iteration of CSSC Indoor Volleyball event was held on 4th and 5th September using the excellent facilities at University of Nottingham.
Numbers were a little down on previous years but it did not diminish the enthusiasm and commitment of those attending. A total of 56 matches being played across the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed events!
Determination
Matches were very closely contested, competitive and played with both gusto and commitment. There were numerous examples of determination and athleticism to retrieve and defend balls and keep rallies going. Many rallies saw high numbers of net crossings as teams ebbed and flowed to fight for the breakthrough to win the point.
A lot of tired bodies at the end of day one as teams jostled through the round robin stages and set themselves up for the concluding stages the following day. Participants were very grateful to the physios for their support in getting those tired bodies ready to go again on the second day! Taping and muscle massage all proved beneficial!
Day Two
The second day saw the conclusion of the qualification process and progress to the classification stages, where intensity and determination grew and teams gave their all to progress.
Even though the matches were competitive, they were all played in good spirit and good sportsmanship abounded. There were many individual displays worthy of note. New players attending really enjoyed the experience. Existing friendships were extended and new ones were created within the volleyball family.
