Meet the Staff | VNews
Each month we’ll be introducing you to a member of the CSSC staff team, and this month we’re saying a huge hello to Richard Hemley, our Creative Copywriter in Marketing.
About Richard
Richard is our resident wordsmith who uses his creativity to write many of our member facing communications, to help engage, excite and inform our audiences about the hundreds of offers, benefits and services. Richard supports every team, department, product and proposition with emails, web content, posters, leaflets, literature, social media posts and anything that can help members enjoy CSSC more.
Most recently, Richard relaunched our member magazine, now called Podium, working with internal and external partners and stakeholders to deliver a stunning new member benefit, to great acclaim.
Previous work and personal life
Richard has worked for CSSC for three years, initially brought on to help deliver the DSP programme back in 2019. Before CSSC he spent much of his career as a communications manager and copywriter at Tesco, HSBC bank and Centrica.
Currently living in Tring, Hertfordshire, in his spare time Richard is first and foremost a family guy. He’s the father to a messy daughter, the husband to a murmuring wife and he has his vengeance in this life, usually at the cinema, as a big Sci-fi and film fan, or subjecting his long-suffering family to building LEGO models.
Always happy to help and lend anyone a hand with your communications, I’m reliably informed by Richard that human kind’s greatest achievement is not fire or the wheel, but the written language, allowing knowledge to be passed down through generations.
